Game-Asylum EverQuest 2 Frequently Asked Questions

EverQuest II is not an expansion, but rather a parallel universe that continues the ongoing history of Norrath and its inhabitants. EverQuest II will introduce a number of features that have never been utilized in massively multiplayer games.
The primary goal of EverQuest II is to create and advance a unique roleplaying persona within the world of Norrath. This may be accomplished a number of ways, including solving mysterious quests, slaying vicious monsters, and crafting powerful relics.
RPG stands for roleplaying game. RPGs are much broader experiences than traditional video games, which usually force players down a very narrow path. In a game such as EverQuest II, there is no 'winning' per se; players create a character and are then free to make their own way through the game world. The EverQuest II experience varies from player to player. Some players may choose to take on epic quests, slaying evil creatures and reaping magical rewards. Others may choose to specialize in a tradeskill and trade items with other players. Each player defines his or her own character's destiny in the lands of EverQuest II.
A massively multiplayer online roleplaying game is a video game where a player connects through the Internet to a persistent virtual world, joining with hundreds of thousands of other gamers in a shared experience. While many modern computer games support multiplayer gaming, very few are designed to support the thousands of simultaneous players found within the worlds of Sony Online Entertainment (SOE). Instead of starting a game on a local network and inviting a few friends to play, EverQuest II uses the Internet to connect to SOE world servers, allowing an almost unlimited number of players to join from all across the globe.
At the time of launch, the EverQuest II team will have over four years of massively multiplayer gaming experience to build upon. Our plans for the combat, quest, and, tradeskill systems-just to name a few-along with our new 3D engine, will take massively multiplayer gaming to new heights.
Absolutely. The world will grow and evolve as the story of Norrath unfolds.
A number of key original team members make up a portion of the EverQuest II team. With the size and scope of the EverQuest II project, it was necessary to expand the team from its original size.
